INFORMATION

1. Thermal Imaging Scans: A Safe and Effective Health Solution for Everyone
Thermal scans are a non-invasive, radiation-free alternative to mammography, offering a safe way to detect early signs of breast cancer for both men and women. This advanced technology empowers individuals to take charge of their health without the need for physical contact or harmful exposure.

Key Benefits of Thermal Imaging Scans
Radiation-Free and Contactless: No exposure to harmful radiation and no physical contact during the scan, ensuring a completely safe and comfortable experience.
Earlier Detection: Thermal Imaging may identify early signs of breast cancer 5 to 8 years earlier than traditional mammograms or physical breast exams.
Ideal for All Women: It is particularly beneficial for younger women with denser breast tissue, where mammography can be less effective. Women with breast implants or those who have had reconstructive surgery can also safely undergo Thermal Imaging, as it requires no breast compression.
Versatile Health Monitoring: Thermal Imaging isn’t just for breast cancer detection. It can help detect and monitor other health conditions, including:

  • Nerve damage
  • Inflammatory pain
  • Skin and other cancers
  • Back injuries and arthritis
  • Dental and TMJ issues
  • Vascular and heart disease
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Stroke risk, digestive disorders, and more.

The Session:
The client undresses and puts on a gown.
Thermography uses a type of infrared technology that detects and records temperature changes on the surface of the skin.
Please note that the thermal scan works directly on the skin and therefore we cannot scan through clothing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Thermal Imaging of the Body?
Thermography / Thermal Imaging is a non-invasive test of physiology, showing thermal abnormalities present in the body. It is a valuable procedure for alerting your doctor to changes that can indicate early warning signs in the development of various conditions such as breast disease and chronic inflammation.

What is a Thermal Health Scan?
A thermal scan is an excellent tool for the detection and monitoring of various health conditions associated with neurological and musculoskeletal dysfunction.
Thermography provides a visual representation of areas of inflammation in the body.
A thermal scan can help to determine identify the source of referred pain and thus assisting the physician in deciding on what the best course of treatment will be.
While X-rays, MRI scans and ultrasound test can provide information regarding structures found within the body, Thermography provides the only technology at this capable of detecting physiological changes and metabolic processes.

What does a Thermal Scan show us?
Thermography is unique in that it shows physiological changes and metabolic processes in the body. The scan will show thermal imbalances and areas of inflammation caused by circulatory problems in the body.
Thermography can also be used to monitor post surgery recovery and the effectiveness of various courses treatment such as acupuncture. Thermography differs from other tests such as x-rays, MRIs, CT scans and ultrasounds in that it look at the physiology of the body where the other scans look at the structure of the body.

What does the Thermal Images NOT show us?
Infrared thermal imaging will not detect all inflammation and will not show structural problems in the body, it is NOT used to diagnose disease but can be used as an adjunct to assist your doctor in prescribing the correct treatment protocol.

How do I prepare for my Thermography Appointment?
We will email a form for you to complete and return prior to your appointment.

Patient preparation:
· Avoid having physical therapy, acupuncture or massage for 24 hrs prior to your DITI scan.
· On the day do not go to the gym before your appointment.
· Do not use lotions or liniments on the day of the scan.
· Do not use hair removal products on the day of the scan.
· Do not wear compression garments.
· Stay out of strong sunlight day of test.
· No changes necessary to diet, preferably don’t eat for 2 hours before the scan.
· No changes necessary to medicines
· If you are doing a full body scan to help determine the source of pain we advise not taking an OTC anti-inflammatory before your appointment.
· Do not smoke for 2 hours before the scan.

What to expect during your Infrared Thermal Scan?

The client undresses and puts on a gown. There will be no physical contact during the scan and no exposure to radiation.

Thermography uses a type of infrared technology that detects and records temperature changes on the surface of the skin therefore the client will be required to remove clothing which covers the area to be scanned as we cannot scan through fabric of any kind. (If you are doing a scan that includes the pelvis or lower back please take note of the following – to obtain accurate imaging it will be necessary to remove your underwear. If this makes you uncomfortable we advise ladies to wear a thong or g-string – this will compromise the imaging to some extent but remains an option).

The camera will be placed 2 to 3 metres away from you and you will be asked to turn or change position for the various images to be taken.

Is it a Thermal Scan Painful?
No, it is pain free, there is no contact or compression with thermography. There is no contact with the patient’s body.

Is there any Radiation involved in a Thermal Scan?

No, Thermography uses Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging that picks up the heat patterns coming from the body.

Is a Thermograph the same as a Mammogram?

No. Mammograms and ultrasounds test look at the body’s structure and the anatomy.
Thermography is a non-invasive test of physiology, showing thermal abnormalities present in the body. It is a valuable procedure for alerting your doctor to changes that can indicate early warning signs of conditions that can then be addressed before they become more serious.

Who is qualified to do a Thermal Scan?
The images are taken by a trained Thermographer.
Only a Licensed Healthcare Practitioner with the licence to diagnosis and treat can review your report. In THS case we used licensed doctors to review your information
Who will interpret my scans and write my report?
A qualified licensed Doctor who is trained in reading and understanding your Thermograph pictures will interpret and suggest on your findings.

3. Lymph drainage

What does the lymphatic system do?
· It acts as the body’s natural detoxification system, helping to flush out toxins and harmful substances.
· It reduces inflammation and water retention by draining excess fluid from your cells and tissues into your bloodstream.
· It helps transport proteins and nutrients to where they’re needed in the body.
· It produces antibodies that fight harmful bacteria.
· Transports fat from the intestines to the liver for processing.
· It produces white blood cells, which are essential for protecting the body from infection.
Signs that your lymphatic system may be clogged:
If your lymphatic system is clogged or not working properly, your skin may give you clues. Problems such as acne, dermatitis, eczema, dandruff, cysts, boils, psoriasis, an enlarged prostate, and even polycystic ovaries or kidneys can be signs of poor lymph drainage. It can also indicate that your kidneys aren’t removing enough cellular waste.

What causes poor lymphatic drainage?
· Not drinking enough good quality water.
· Eating too many acidic foods, such as processed foods, dairy products, and fried foods.
· Drinking acidic beverages such as coffee, soda, alcohol, and energy drinks.
· Lifestyle factors such as smoking, high stress levels, or drug use can also slow lymph flow.

Poor lymph drainage and breast health
Wearing underwire bras and tight sports bras can interfere with lymph flow in and around the underarm area, where it is important for maintaining good breast health. Approximately 85% of the lymph fluid from the breasts drains into the lymph nodes in this area, so when drainage is blocked, it can lead to the development of fibrocystic tissue and possibly even breast cancer.
How does Electro Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) work?

Electro Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) uses gentle energy applied to the surface of the skin to stimulate lymphatic flow. This energy helps loosen and break up fibrotic tissue in areas such as the uterus and breasts, and can even soften scar tissue. With improved lymph flow, your immune system can work more effectively, helping the body fight off viruses, yeast, bacteria, and even cancer cells.

This process helps your body detoxify by removing harmful toxins while increasing the flow of nutrients, hormones, and other essentials from your bloodstream into your cells for better health.

4. Food intolerance

We see more and more people struggling with uncomfortable reactions to certain foods – commonly known as food intolerance. These reactions can show up in a variety of ways, including bloating, headaches, fatigue, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, and even skin problems.

Did you know that in developed countries, about 1 in 2 people experience some type of food intolerance symptom? The tricky part is that these symptoms can sometimes be linked to more serious health problems, but they often go unnoticed because they’re hard to diagnose. As people become more aware of health and nutrition, there’s a growing interest in better understanding food intolerances.

One of the biggest challenges with food intolerance is that symptoms can appear hours or even days after eating the trigger food, making it difficult to pinpoint the culprit. That’s why a simple test to quickly identify problem foods can make all the difference. It helps healthcare professionals guide patients through solutions, such as elimination diets, to relieve symptoms and help them feel better faster.

We offer a simple finger prick blood test to help you find out what foods your body is reacting to. This quick and easy test can provide valuable insights to help you and your healthcare provider identify problem foods so you can take steps toward relief and better health.
